There is no doubt that Dubai is one of the trendy tourist destinations worldwide. And Egypt, in reality, has never ceased to be. Therefore, a tour between both countries is a very interesting and completely feasible option thanks to the variety of current flights and the organization of an agency like Egipto Exclusivo, with professionals and service providers in much of the Arab world. Here we detail what our 10-day trip to Egypt and Dubai has to offer.
On a trip to Egypt and Dubai like this, the main attractions to visit in the first country are related to the majestic Pharaonic civilization: the Pyramids of Giza, the temples of Abu Simbel, the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, the sanctuaries of Karnak… But there is also space and time for other later attractions: the city of Cairo, a cruise along the Nile waters, and ultimately, contact with the most authentic Arab culture.
‘Majesty’ is also a word that can be used to talk about the United Arab Emirates in general, and Dubai in particular. This city-emirate symbolizes the most current luxury and exclusivity, and in this trip to Egypt and Dubai we dedicate several days to discover it: spectacular skyscrapers, impossible urban projects, refined shopping centers… And in addition, to complete the experience, we add a visit to old Dubai and do a safari in the surrounding desert.
This 10-day and 9-night tour through Egypt and Dubai begins at Cairo International Airport and ends at Dubai’s. The schedule includes two domestic flights (Cairo – Aswan and Luxor – Cairo), as well as the necessary international flight between Cairo and Dubai. This is the program:
This tour through Egypt and Dubai begins in Cairo: the staff of our agency will be waiting for you at its International Airport to welcome you and carry out the first necessary procedures. After this, we will provide a private vehicle transfer to the hotel located in the city.
Upon arrival, after the relevant check-in and before retiring to rest in your rooms, we will give you an informational briefing about the tour and the two countries that will host you on this trip.
One of the highlights of this tour through Egypt and Dubai arrives on the second day: after breakfast at the hotel, we will take you to the necropolis of Giza, where the famous Pyramids are located, which we will contemplate from different perspectives.
Built about 4,500 years ago, the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure (fourth dynasty) sought here an eternal connection with the Afterlife, and what they have undoubtedly achieved is the admiration of all those who come here to know them closely. In addition, the Great Sphinx and the Queens’ Pyramids are other structures that leave those who contemplate them awestruck.
If the Pyramids are the zenith of royal tombs, the Great Museum of Giza is for the museums of Egyptology: built recently, it is the best possible complement for the interpretation of that civilization. On one hand, it exhibits the best works and pieces of the era, such as the treasures that can be seen in the room dedicated to Tutankhamun’s tomb. But on the other hand, you can also observe small everyday utensils that tell us about a very advanced society for its time.
To replenish your energy, lunch will be served in a local restaurant in the area, while the afternoon will be free to delve deeper into Ancient Egypt, take a walk around the city, or simply rest. And at the end of the day, you will spend the night at the same hotel in Cairo.
Many of Egypt’s attractions are located in the south of the country, which is known as Upper Egypt. Therefore, to streamline the program, on this third day, there will be a flight between Cairo and Aswan. After the included breakfast, our staff will pick you up at the hotel to make the transfer to the airport.
Once in Aswan, another representative of our agency will welcome you and lead you to the vehicle for the subsequent transfer, which takes you not to the city but to a monument of great splendor: the Temple of Isis in Philae, surrounded by the waters of the Nile and lush nature. It is dated in the 4th century BC, although with significant contributions from the Ptolemaic period, a sign that in the last phases of that civilization, great works continued to be carried out.
After visiting the temple, we will move to Aswan, where we will check-in on the cruise ship that will start the next day, but where lunch and dinner will already be served on this day. The afternoon will be free to walk around the city, which has charming places like Elephantine Island. And to rest at night, nothing better than the cabin of the ship, your home for the next two days.
The fourth is also a very special day within this tour of Egypt and Dubai. Therefore, waking up early will be a sacrifice we will happily make: we will leave on a trip still at dawn towards Abu Simbel, so the provided breakfast will be on the route (Breakfast Box).
Upon arriving in Abu Simbel, we will immediately feel the greatness of the reign of Ramses II, who erected these monuments for his eternal glory and that of his wife, Nefertari. Today they are at the foot of Lake Nasser, but they had to be brought here stone by stone so they would not be flooded by its waters. A titanic work sponsored by UNESCO, which also named them World Heritage Sites, just like the Temple of Isis in Philae.
Later, we will return to Aswan and start the cruise navigation, as well as enjoying lunch on board. Kom Ombo and its spectacular Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek will be the first and only stop of that day, which offers the indescribable pleasure of sailing the Nile as the ancient civilizations that lived here always did.
Upon arriving in Edfu, we will dock at the port, dinner will be served, and you can retire to sleep in the cabins, thus closing a long day that combines intensive culture but also maximum relaxation.
The breakfast of this fifth day of the tour will be on board, shortly before visiting the Temple of Edfu, inland but close enough to dedicate the first part of the day to it. This is one of the largest temples of Ancient Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, so adored by the pharaohs.
After discovering the imposing architecture of the place, we will return to the ship to continue the navigation and have lunch on board, arriving at the port of Luxor, where the navigation ends. However, our ship will still be there, waiting for us to have dinner and offer us rest during the night.
Meanwhile, the afternoon of this day will be spent visiting the best of the eastern bank of Luxor, especially the Luxor temple and the Karnak complex: these precincts hosted the important cult of Amun and were the spiritual base of the influential priests who managed his cult and even ruled the territory at certain times in history. The Avenue of the Sphinxes connects both spaces, thus enhancing their solemnity.
The breakfast on the sixth day will be the last one aboard the Nile cruise, and after its conclusion, you will check out from the ship. What awaits us next is the visit to the western bank of Luxor, the ancient Thebes, of so much mysticism to its inhabitants and rulers.
We will discover this in front of the Colossi of Memnon and at the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el Bahari. But above all, in the Valley of the Kings, where we will visit three pharaohs’ tombs. Their interiors are richly decorated with paintings and were the place where everything was conscientiously arranged for the journey to the afterlife, increasing the magic of the place.
After this excursion, we will transfer you to the city airport to fly to Cairo, where our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the city hotel and spend the night there.
On the seventh day of this tour through Egypt and Dubai, the route reaches the United Arab Emirates, and we will not leave them until the conclusion of the tour. To do this, after having breakfast at the Cairo hotel, our driver will take you in a private vehicle to the city airport, from where the plane will take off on a direct flight.
Upon arrival in Dubai, the staff of our agency will also be waiting at the terminal for pickup and private transfer to the hotel in the city, where you will spend the night. Depending on the Cairo – Dubai flight schedules, there may be free time before departure or after arrival.
On the eighth day of this trip through Egypt and Dubai, the program delves into the latter city-emirate, one of the most unique in the world. After having breakfast at the hotel buffet, we will start a full-day tour that will allow us to understand the contrast between the old and the modern, which has become a hallmark of this destination filled with exclusivity.
In the morning of this day, we will focus on classic Dubai, that is, that part of the city where corners and details from before the oil exploitation can still be seen. Especially the Bastakiya area or old neighborhood, where traditional merchants’ houses and period restaurants still persist.
A visit to the Dubai Museum will help us understand the city’s history, present, and future, and after that, we will embark on an abra or river taxi, thus touring the waters of the creek until we reach the Spice Souk and the gold bazaars, where an atmosphere full of unique aromas and glitters will envelop us.
The program includes lunch at a local restaurant and in the afternoon we will go on a safari excursion in the desert, aboard a luxury all-terrain vehicle. From this moment until the end of the day, there may be activities and experiences that will bring us closer to the desert’s Arab culture: camel rides, contemplation of sand dunes (and even surfing on them), water shishas, henna tattoos, belly dance shows…
And of course, tasting of local dishes in a dinner of high gastronomic quality, where fresh salads, local spiced meats, and fruits as dessert will not be missing. After that, we will return to the city hotel in the all-terrain vehicle to rest in the rooms.
On this second day of visiting Dubai, we will discover the other side of the city-emirate: its radiant modernity, with cutting-edge projects, some already completed and others in execution. Breakfast will be taken at the hotel in buffet format and immediately afterwards we will tour the most fascinating places in Dubai in a private vehicle.
On this list of places to visit are the Jumeirah Mosque and the Burj Al Arab Hotel (the tallest in the world). We will go up the monorail to delve into the famous Palm Jumeirah, the artificial island built in the shape of a palm tree where such iconic buildings as the Atlantis The Palm Hotel are located. Dubai Marina, a symbol of the emirate’s luxury and opulence, is also on the program, as well as the Mall of the Emirates and the Burj el Khalifa area, where the world’s tallest skyscraper stands imposingly, at 828 meters.
Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant and the afternoon will be free, which is an ideal time for shopping at the nearby Dubai Mall, where the most exclusive brands from around the planet gather. In the evening, there will be a transfer to rest at the hotel.
This journey through Egypt and Dubai comes to an end on this tenth day, in which, after having breakfast at the hotel, there are no planned activities, so that you can arrive at the city’s airport in time. At the terminal, we will provide any last assistance you may need and we will bid farewell, expressing our gratitude for your trust.
