Flights for travel from Mexico to Egypt

One of the first questions to solve is: what flights are there to travel from Mexico to Egypt? The variety is wide, but you should know that, for the moment, there are no direct routes between one country and the other. Of course, this may change if any airline, especially Mexican or Egyptian, decide to open a non-stop connection between the two states, but at the time of writing this article (May 2024) this option did not exist. In any case, you can check back in case there are any new developments in this regard.

Taking into account that, to travel from Mexico to Egypt, you will have to make at least one stopover, the main options have as departure airport Mexico City Benito Juarez (MEX). And as arrival airport, the airport of the Egyptian capital, Cairo (CAI). On the other hand, as intermediate airport for stopover, there are different possibilities. For example:

  • Munich and Frankfurt on Lufthansa-operated flights
  • Istanbul, on flights operated by Turkish Airlines
  • Madrid, on flights operated by Iberia
  • Toronto, on flights operated by Air Canada
  • Paris, on flights operated by Air France
  • London, on flights operated by British Airways

As far as the price is concerned, everything will depend on the dates selected, although the tickets usually do not go below 10,000 pesos. The total duration of the journey will depend on the route, but in total it may take no less than 18 hours, including stopovers. On the other hand, if two stopovers are chosen, the duration may be much longer, but in certain cases it may be a more economical option.

Other keys to travel from Mexico to Egypt: visas

Another important detail for traveling from Mexico to Egypt is the visa. This requirement can change depending on the political, social and health situation at any given time, as was seen during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the current trend in Egypt is to facilitate entry to tourists from all over the world.

In the specific case of Mexico, it is now possible to obtain an electronic tourist visa (e-Visa), which saves the traveler a lot of time, since it is no longer necessary to go to the embassy to request this document.

In reality, the e-visa is a rather informative procedure, since practically all citizens who apply for it obtain it, upon payment of the amount stipulated at the time, which in 2024 was around $25 dollars. In addition, by obtaining an e-Visa, the authorities of both countries will be aware of the trip, which is a help in terms of communications with loved ones, assistance and any other action in case of unforeseen events.

To obtain an e-Visa, you will need a passport that is valid for at least six months, as well as a travel itinerary and documents proving that you have made reservations for accommodation and other services.

And in the latter, our agency can help you, since our travel agents are in charge of designing tailor-made routes, booking hotels, arranging transportation and managing other basic aspects for the trip, in this case premium and with maximum comfort.
