Summary of the day: Arrival in Cairo Meet & Greet with our representative Transfer to the hotel, check-in, and informational briefing Overnight stay at the hotel in Cairo.
After a well-rested night and enjoying a full breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to start the sightseeing in Egypt. The first stop is one of the most anticipated by any traveler: the necropolis of Giza, where we will be transported in a private vehicle with our guide.
Inside this vast archaeological complex, we will explore the three Pyramids: the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. These pyramids were built around 4,500 years ago as tombs for the pharaohs of the 4th dynasty. Another iconic symbol of the necropolis is the Great Sphinx. Our guide will provide detailed explanations about the significance of these monuments and other areas within the necropolis.
After exploring the Giza necropolis, we will drive to another nearby and significant site: Saqqara. Here, we will discover the Step Pyramid of Djoser, which is even older than the pyramids at Giza (3rd dynasty). It was commissioned by Pharaoh Djoser and designed by the renowned architect Imhotep, leaving a lasting mark in the history of Ancient Egypt and humanity.
To complete our pyramid tour, we will visit the pyramids of Dahshur. Similar to the previous sites, Dahshur was a necropolis near Memphis, the capital during the Old Kingdom. Here, we can admire the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid, which served as tombs for pharaohs of the 4th dynasty. The fascinating history and interconnectedness of these necropolises led to their designation as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant, offering the perfect menu to replenish our energy after this spectacular tour. In the afternoon, as we return to Cairo, you will have free time to rest or take a stroll in the city. The second night will be spent at the hotel in Cairo.
In this tour that covers Cairo, Luxor, and Hurghada, the title of the liveliest, most dynamic, and bustling city goes to the capital of the country. Therefore, it is worth dedicating a full day to uncover its secrets with our guide after having breakfast at the hotel.
The first part of the morning will be dedicated to the Egyptian Museum, which houses a magnificent collection of archaeological artifacts and artworks from Ancient Egypt spanning all periods. From pharaohs’ mummies to sculptures of gods, along with jewelry found in tombs and everyday objects that provide insights into the culture of that civilization.
After visiting the Egyptian Museum, it’s time to explore the present-day city while keeping its past in mind. In the Islamic Quarter, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, we encounter centuries-old mosques that showcase the splendor of Arab civilization since their arrival in the mid-7th century. Two notable sites deserve special mention: the Citadel of Saladin (12th century) with the Alabaster Mosque (19th century) inside, and the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar, a large medieval market that remains active today and is considered one of the largest in the Muslim world.
Further south lies another neighborhood of great interest: the Coptic Quarter, with churches and museums that bear witness to the early steps of Coptic Christianity in the city. For example, we’ll visit the Church of St. Sergius, which is believed to have provided refuge to the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and the Child during their Flight into Egypt, as well as the Hanging Church, arguably the most important Coptic temple in Cairo. Additionally, we’ll enhance our understanding of Coptic Christianity with a visit to the spectacular Cave Church and explore the Jewish presence in the city, such as the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
Similar to the previous day, this is one of the most intense days of the tour, and lunch will be served at a local restaurant in the city center. In the evening, you will spend your last night at the hotel in Cairo as Luxor and Hurghada become the next destinations on your itinerary.
Between Hurghada (the end of the tour) and Cairo (the beginning), Luxor holds a crucial place in this itinerary. On this fourth day, you will be transferred to this city in Upper Egypt after having breakfast and checking out of your hotel in Cairo. Our driver will take you to the airport in the capital, from where you will fly to Luxor.
Upon arrival at Luxor airport, our agency’s representatives will greet you and directly transfer you to the monuments of the day: those located on the East Bank of Luxor. This modern city sits atop the ancient Thebes, the capital of the pharaohs during the Middle Kingdom and, more importantly, the New Kingdom. It was also the seat of the influential and powerful Amun priesthood.
We will explore and understand this history at the majestic Luxor Temple and the immense complex of Karnak, the largest religious site in all of Ancient Egypt. These two sites are connected by the famous Avenue of the Sphinxes, which stretches over 2 km and has recently been restored to its former glory. The splendor is also evident in the pylons and obelisk of Luxor Temple, as well as the awe-inspiring Hypostyle Hall of Karnak.
After immersing ourselves in both complexes, we will proceed with the afternoon check-in at the hotel, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night on this fourth day of the tour.
On this fifth day of the tour, after having breakfast at the hotel and checking out, we will explore other fascinating monuments of ancient Thebes. Specifically, we will visit the sites located in the western area of Luxor, which requires crossing the sacred waters of the Nile, a symbolic journey that the inhabitants of Ancient Egypt also made after death.
It is in this area that the most important necropolises and funerary temples of the great city are found. We will organize a car route to reach these places, with the highlight being the Valley of the Kings, where the prominent pharaohs of the New Kingdom excavated their lavish tombs. It will also be worth visiting Deir el-Bahari, where we will explore the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, located at the foot of a spectacular cliff. The Colossi of Memnon are the main remnants of another grand funerary temple: that of Amenhotep III.
After a morning filled with visits, we will embark on a private vehicle journey to Hurghada, with lunch en route and an expected arrival in the afternoon. Upon reaching the hotel, you will check in and can start enjoying its amenities, as everything is included for this first night and the remaining two nights.
After a circuit filled with cultural visits in Cairo and Luxor, Hurghada will offer you the final relaxation you deserve. At the resort hotel where you will be staying, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at your own pace, take a relaxing swim in the pool, or visit the numerous nearby beaches.
Hurghada, located on the Red Sea, is one of the most important beach destinations for sun and sea tourism, as the temperatures are warm throughout the year. Its main attraction is water activities, especially diving and snorkeling, which are very popular due to the extraordinary marine life in these waters, with species of all sizes and colors. This can be enjoyed without venturing too far from the shore, but also aboard boats to reach the best diving spots.
Another interesting option for this day’s program is a desert safari, in 4×4 vehicles and quads, where you can experience the adrenaline of speeding over the sand. In this environment, meditation sessions and cultural encounters with the Bedouin population are also organized, where you can learn about their gastronomy and traditions.
The seventh day will be the second free day at the Hurghada resort hotel. You can take this opportunity to continue enjoying relaxation by the pool and beaches, or you can plan activities as mentioned in the previous day. Once again, all meals are included from morning until night, as you will also spend the night in this spectacular accommodation at the end of the day.
The eighth day is the last day of this Egypt tour. Until the very last moment, you will enjoy the comfort and amenities of the Hurghada resort hotel, as breakfast is included, and you will have the morning free. You can check out by noon.
After that, at the agreed time, our staff will pick you up to transfer you to the Hurghada airport, from where your flight to Cairo will depart to connect with your return flight home.
Therefore, it will be the moment for a heartfelt farewell and to remember all the experiences you had in Cairo, Luxor, and Hurghada, which we hope will remain in your memory for the rest of your life.
